it's still probably muscle strain, but this time the meds are more expensive.

who would've thought riding a wheelchair could be so fun?

actually, if i were to be honest, i was looking forward to getting myself into a wheelchair. and i needed a wheelchair just for fun. the pain in my hip area was so great when standing up that i can't walk ten meters without crouching down. getting a cab to the hospital was excruciating.

so there i was, limping from to the information desk. unfortunately there aren't any orthopedic doctors available because of some conference. i asked if i could get a wheelchair, and she said she could have one brought over but would it be alright since i don't have anyone with me. i said it's okay, i could wheel myself around; it's the actual walking that's painful.

i asked where the office of my HMO was located so i could get a referral or something; i was told it's in another building, but would i like to go to the emergency medicine department instead to get some painkillers? i initially decided i'd get the referral first but when i reached the door, i changed my mind about those painkillers. there's no way i'm gonna be able to walk to another building in my state.

one of the nurses gave me a wheelchair and wheeled me to emergency medicine. the doctor did some tests and asked that some x-rays be taken, just to rule out any bone injuries. getting the x-rays was painful because i had to stay still in positions that really hurt my hip. towards the end of it, i had my fists balled up and my teeth clenched because i was enduring quite a lot of pain. the painkiller that was injected to me prior to getting the x-rays didn't seem to work.

daryl arrived sometime later and saw me after the doctor had me checked. i told him how much i'm enjoying being in a wheelchair and he commented how it's rare to see someone in a wheelchair that's so fidgetty, not to mention having his legs crossed. yes, i was milking it for all it's worth.

my hip still pains me. i still have to sleep sitting down on the counch because lying in bed is still fucking painful. i still can't walk for more than a few meters without stopping to rest. but i think the meds are starting to take effect. i still need to see an ortho, though, so that i could have the last of this.
