synchronized illness.

"if a still-alive synch synchonizes with a still-powered prodigy, will their combined powers cause an intellectual absorption feedback?"

that was my text message to daryl the other day. we really do geek out like that. but let me explain things for non-marvel comics readers:

synch is capable of duplicating the powers of mutants within his immediate vicinity (comic writers referred to it as "synching"), while prodigy (when he was still powered) could absorb the knowledge of anyone, also within immediate vicinity. how one character died and how the other was depowered could be answered by wikipedia.

supposing synch duplicated the powers of prodigy, AND prodigy ended up absorbing synch's acquired knowledge, AND synch turned his borrowed powers on to prodigy: would that kind of setup cause an intellectual absorption feedback?

daryl's reply was: "my friends talked about that and we declared them to be super niggers, because only a nigger would have powers to steal like that."

i told him they should also include cloak in their list.

i spoke to dar earlier when he told me how he had to cancel his training class because his current illness has reached "planetary stroke levels."

coincidentally, we currently have similar illnesses: we both have acute infections in the throat area. he has pharyngitis, i have tonsilitis. for some reason our illness has affected our sinuses, causing us headaches; his is worse because his illness has triggered his migraine.

we could only laugh the situation off; our ongoing joke is how one is nigger-stealing the other's illness. (mostly it's me who did the stealing; he caught his illness before me.)

i'd find the whole thing sweet if it weren't for hassles of being sick.
