It feels good to finally be able to wash my hair properly again.

I still showered while I was ill, though under controlled conditions. Aside from obvious hygienic reasons, I think a quick shower helps lower down my fever a bit. But of course, I have to make it quick to avoid the chills so that meant I haven't had much care these part few days to my hair.

I don't know what those anti-hair fall ads are getting at; people naturally lose a hundred or so hair strands a day. Guys probably don't notice much because most guys wear their hair short. Longer hair occupy more space on the shower room floor so a similar number of fallen hair will appear like a lot of hair, indeed, not mention clog the drain faster.

And if one's hair is 2 feet long (or longer) and curly, the fallen hair sometimes get caught among other strands until they're freed by hand (or comb -- but I haven't combed in maybe 2 years). 3 or so days of accumulated fallen hair from my head looked like the entire amount of hair present in some newborn babies.

And it's not just the absence of fallen hair that made cleaning my hair feel so good, it's also the thorough shampooing, the conditioning -- it feels great to have the hair well taken care of again, even if it consumed around 15 minutes of my shower time.

It sometimes puzzles me slightly when people ask me about getting a haircut. I've had dreams like that, actually, where (for some surreal reason or another) I had my hair cut half its length or shorter. But what puzzles me is why some people use "when" instead of "if" when posing that question. A guy waited for 4 years to get his hair this long, did they think the guy would just decide to chop 4 years of hair the day after tomorrow?

I had longish hair before that reached my shoulders. One day I made an extreme decision to go shaven (and remained shaven most of the time after that). That night I felt like getting sick, like a mild case of hypothermia. Hehe.

I remember how tedious it could be shampooing ang grooming long hair everyday. I kinda don't miss that and believe I'd sweat a lot of I grew my hair back again.

But keep your hair long. :-)

i think a lot of the people who knew me when my hair was shorter, preferred my shorter hair. like my mother. :-))

i think i'm keeping my hair long mostly because i've kept it long for the last few years.
yeah, maintenance is a bitch. but it's a bit like washing dishes -- it's relaxing, brainless activity when i've become too stressed.

Why not post pics when your hair was short? I think the long hair gives you a certain "coolness"...
