my face was a few inches above his. his eyes were squinting and he wore a beautifully goofy grin. ("probably not enough to warrant violent fits of laughter, but enough to remember fondly.") we'd been cuddling and kissing in the last hour.

he looked really adorable.

"you look cute that way," he said while i was looking at him, mirroring my thoughts. maybe our faces, too, were mirroring each other.
