the trees are stripped bare of all they wear. what do I care?

the parents' house has been finally painted. for the longest time, its wall were bare cement; when i dropped by during the weekend, i was surprised to see pastel colored walls in unusual color combinations of light blues, ochre and pale yellows.

"were the walls of my bedroom painted as well," i asked the mom while i was eating food at the border's kid's birthday party. the mom said it was, haven't i seen it?

i haven't yet, and i told her it's too bad the walls are no longer bare. i liked the textured colors of the gray cement. that and the nice way light enters the bedroom window makes one of its walls a good background for photographing portraits. now it's a flat pale blue wall that'll make skin color look dull.

i was surprised to see the mercury drug calendar at home. i nearly forgot that a photo i took appeared for september. sure, i wasn't paid for it but one's gotta laugh because (1) it was taken using a camera phone, and (2) i wasn't even in bicol when i took it.

at any rate, it's october now and that photo will now be forgotten as the calendar's page is flipped.
