somebody gave me a head.

actually, she gave me two.

"jade," my co-worker asked me while i was talking a call, "do you want a bzzt-bzzt-brrkt-bzzt?"

i didn't hear what she said properly since i was talking to a customer, only that she was offering me something. so i motioned a thumbs up: sure, give me whatever.

turns out they were two lettuce heads. ah. well, at least i could have a salad for lunch and bring the other home. or -- since i'm expecting a vegan friend to drop by later -- i could keep them in the fridge and bring both home later.

but why would someone bring two lettuce heads in the office? i mean, i could understand bringing lettuce leaves in a canister for a light salad (i happen to like lettuce with vinaigrette), but two full heads?

should i be paranoid? should i check each one for hidden bombs or exotic chemicals? should i trust two seemingly innocent heads of lettuce given to me freely under seemingly innocent circumstances? did it seem too casual to be suspicious?

hmmm.

i should buy some vinaigrette later.
