it's half-past seven, are you sure where my spark is?

i love reading boingboing because there's almost always some wonderfully odd item that will be listed in their blog. like singing tesla coils. i think it may have replaced the theremin as my favorite instrument of exotic electronica.

talk about show stopper.

when we watched the prestige, daryl and i wondered who was the actor who played tesla and waited for his name in the credits. it was david bowie. we both had the same "holy shit, it's david bowie" reaction when we read that and wondered why didn't we recognize him. not that that's surprising, the name made his career by reinventing himself years before madonna thought about it. and now, in our minds, tesla is david bowie.

but i digress.

if you want to try playing music using tesla coils but can't build or purchase one yourself, the arcattack site added a tesla coil emulator.

in other news, i've rediscovered warcraft.
